About me
I am a person-centred counsellor and therapist, with my focus always being on the needs of the client. I feel that building a trusting, therapeutic relationship which empowers clients to find solutions at their own pace is paramount in my practice. I work with adults in my private practice and young people in secondary schools across Wirral.
I find that clients who feel heard, respected and valued achieve the best outcomes; therefore, I offer a non-judgemental, compassionate and safe space for clients, whatever their age, to air and talk through issues.
After completing a degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, I studied a Master's degree in Critical Autism Studies and am consistently working to improve and update my knowledge through continued professional development.
I have experience of, but not limited to, working with young people experiencing self-harm, eating disorders, and social anxiety. I also offer counselling sessions to help clients work through issues such as anxiety, trauma, bereavement, work-related stress, and depression.
I offer a brief initial 15-minute chat, which is free of charge. This gives you chance to ask any questions you may have and to see whether you feel I am the right therapist for you. If you decide that it feels right, we will arrange our first 30-40 minute session during which we discuss your needs and expectations. This session covers contracts and boundaries, but we will also use the time to get to know each other a little. This is in a relaxed, safe environment where no pressure or judgement will be put upon you. This session is offered at a reduced rate of £25, with all further sessions payable in advance at the agreed cost.
