About me

Feeling overwhelmed and lost can be one of the most isolating experiences, often leaving people feeling hopeless that they will ever feel differently. The start of change can be talking to someone who makes you feel safe, heard and acknowledges your situation, allowing for thoughts and feelings to be explored in a non-judgemental, open and honest way.

These ideas underpin the person-centred approach with research showing that creating a trusting relationship is key to effective therapy. I believe in the individual’s own wisdom and direction – I do not offer advice but rather help you to re-connect to your inner-self and knowing what you want, and how to get there. Being in therapy can be hard work, taking you to difficult places and most often to aspects of our childhoods. I am committed to working alongside you to help you find whatever it is you are seeking in life, and in a way that fits with you.

If you would like to arrange an initial session, which I offer at a reduced fee, please get in touch by emailing me and I will aim to get back to you within 24 hours.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified, registered psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have trained in the person-centred approach to level 5 (FdSc - foundation degree -  Distinction). I also have a graduate diploma in Psychology (Distinction).

I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, self-esteem, and confidence. I have extensive experience working with trauma with clients experiencing domestic abuse, and supporting young people.

Training completed:

Complex Trauma & Dissociation: Clinical Skills Workshop (September 2023)

Introduction to Internal Family Systems (February 2025)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
