About me
I am a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience in a variety of settings.
My understanding is that pain and hardship are not anomalies, but rather fundamental aspects of life that everyone encounters to varying degrees. This understanding helps me offer a compassionate and de-stigmatising approach to people I work with. Many people seek psychological therapy at some point in their lives. This might be to alleviate current suffering, to work through something in their past, or to help them look forward and identify ways to lead a more meaningful life. I am especially passionate about helping people become free from their past trauma and/or current addictive behaviours.
During our initial assessment, we will have an opportunity to develop a shared understanding of your difficulties, your goals, your background and your current circumstances. This will allow us to create a treatment plan that is specifically tailored to your individual needs with an approach that is evidence based. In my practice, I draw on a range of evidence-based modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), as well as Mentalisation Based Therapy, mindfulness based and systemic approaches.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
