About me
I'm Alex, a registered and qualified adult and young people's in person counsellor, in Exeter. If you think we might be the right fit, contact me for a free introductory phone call.
In my experience as a counsellor at Exeter College and working with adults, I have helped clients explore challenges such as anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, depression, self-esteem, neuro-diversity/-curiosity...& more. I see the difference when individuals are supported.
I'm specialist trained in counselling young people (aged 16-18) and work creatively to support both adults and teenagers.
I have experience in working with a wide range of emotional, personal and relational difficulties.*
If you'd like to work together, I'm here to support you along the way. I will meet you where you are and our work will be at a pace that feels comfortable.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am trained in person-centred counselling, which means that I offer an inclusive space for you to feel heard, accepted and safe to explore whatever you need to, at a pace that feels comfortable.
I work creatively, with an option for clients to use colouring/drawing/fidgets/sandtray, to help the therapy - especially when words are difficult.
- Advanced Professional Certificate in Counselling Young People (ages 16-18)
- Advanced Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, Level 5 (person-centred)
- CPD courses include domestic abuse, trauma, ADHD and women, neuroscience of adverse childhood experiences
Previous experience includes:
- Well-being coach in secondary schools (ages 14-16)
- Exeter College counsellor (ages 16-19)
- Long term adult clients
- Family support for refugees

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

On the short introductory call, we can meet each other and explore working together (no cost).
For Young People & Parents/Carers
For Young People (15+), after the short introductory call we will arrange an Initial Assessment Session online for you and your parent/carer (before the sessions begin). The Session costs £28.00 and lasts 40 minutes.
Sessions - You choose
It is important that you get the right support and a good fit for you.
If you would like to work together, then counselling sessions take place in person in Exeter and cost £48.00 for 50 minutes.
