About me

Are you feeling low, anxious, or hopeless? Perhaps you are going through significant life changes or ongoing stress that keeps you up at night and which may impact your self-esteem, your relationships, your work and other areas of your life.

I work with adults who face emotional challenges such as stress, anxiety, burnout, and depression, often caused by trauma or other difficult life events. My approach is rooted in empathy, acceptance without judgement, and a holistic view of you as a unique individual.

My Practice

In-person sessions take place at the Wellbeing Centre in Teddington, where I invite you to explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviours.

I firmly believe that each individual has the ability to discover their own unique path to overcoming life's challenges. Together, we will tailor our sessions to meet your specific needs, explore your relationship with yourself, help you gain new insights, and develop strategies to manage your challenges. Increasing your self-awareness will empower you to recognise your choices and make positive life changes.
I specialise in stress & anxiety, depression, trauma, and ADHD.

Trauma therapy

If you think that you may be experiencing early trauma or PTSD symptoms, we will explore various aspects of your personal history to identify potential triggers that could be contributing to your current challenges. Recognising the depth of your distress and any emotions you may have repressed in the past, we will proceed cautiously and at a pace that allows you to confront and work through these feelings effectively before advancing to the next stage of exploration.

Living with ADHD

Getting an ADHD diagnosis as an adult can be challenging. You might experience a shift in your self-perception, causing confusion or doubt about your capabilities and past behaviours. Or you may struggle with the stigma associated with ADHD, leading to feelings of shame or embarrassment. Your usual coping mechanisms might be questioned, disrupting your life, and you may need support during this adjustment period to develop more effective strategies for self-management.

I am here to support you in navigating these challenges and exploring your personal experiences, thoughts, and feelings. With the right support, a clinical diagnosis can eventually provide validation, explain past difficulties, and offer clarity and a framework for better self-understanding.

To book a free 20min phone consultation, please call or send me an email.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling, which encompasses Person-centred therapy, Gestalt therapy, and Transactional Analysis. I am a registered member of BACP, and I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

My background is in medical research. Before I trained as a psychotherapist, I spent many years in the corporate industry, where I gained firsthand experience of the challenges people encounter in today’s fast-paced world. Mental health is becoming a major concern, and the pressure to meet deadlines,  handle a lot of work and, at the same time, keep a healthy work-life balance and deal with personal relationships and life events can be really challenging. If you don’t manage that stress, it can lead to anxiety and depression.

Due to my experience of working in the NHS, I have a good understanding of the daily challenges that people with mental health conditions face. If you have a clinical diagnosis, I aim to integrate your unique experiences into our work and ensure that you feel heard and supported.

Outside my private practice, I volunteer as a counsellor for a mental health charity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
