About me

Searching for the right therapist can sometimes feel daunting. I offer a warm, safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space to help explore your concerns, ease potential anxieties, and help unpick things that might be on your mind. I do this by listening closely with empathy and support. This environment is designed to comfortably facilitate self-exploration, so that you feel personally empowered and above all where you can feel truly seen and heard.

Central to my work is the belief that building a trusting relationship where the focus is entirely on you is vital in achieving any desired change or helping you to reflect on where you are now and where you would like to be. Together we can formulate a specific plan with agreed actions in order to achieve any desired change regardless of the duration of therapy.

Rooted in the ‘person-centred’ model, my main therapeutic stance recognises each individual person as the expert on themselves, as no one else knows truly what it’s like to be you. My aim is to help you make the most of your life whilst listening carefully and quietly questioning.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which is the main governing body that both certifies me as a formally trained and qualified Counsellor and continues to oversee my ethics and professional development.

My therapeutic experience to date has been within the NHS, where have been privileged to have supported many individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds with a wide mix of therapeutic needs.

In addition to my therapeutic background, my professional experience spans corporate and start up business environments. In more recent years, I have been working in schools in a management role where my ability to understand the needs of both parents and children alike is critical.

I understand the impact of the pressures and stresses of life and the challenge in managing them whilst maintaining the every day.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
