About me

*Currently offering £20 off initial sessions with new clients*

Hi, I’m Alex — a BACP-registered counsellor based in Bristol, working between BS5 and BS16. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity questions, and life transitions. I often support young adults, men, and people in creative fields who are facing the pressures and challenges of work, life, and self-expression.

With a background in the creative industries, I have a particular interest in supporting artists, writers, and others whose personal expression, identity, and self-worth can feel closely intertwined with their work.

I have both professional experience working with neurodivergent clients and personal insight into the challenges that can accompany an adult ADHD diagnosis. I understand how ADHD can affect identity, relationships, work, creativity and self-esteem, and I aim to offer a space that balances practical understanding with deeper therapeutic exploration.

My work with men is informed by the reality that masculinity today is often both challenged and expected at the same time. I also work with new fathers adjusting to parenthood, and with people experiencing the loneliness that can come with isolation.

I take an approach that blends person-centred, psychodynamic, and existential perspectives. Together, we might explore how past experiences and relationships shape your present, how to cope with a fast-moving and often overwhelming world, or the deeper questions that arise around meaning, belonging, and the future.

Therapy can offer space to challenge hardship, patterns, and pressures, and to tackle the shame that comes with trying to be everything we’ve been taught to expect of ourselves. Whatever you’re facing, I believe it can also offer connection, insight, and the possibility of real change.

*It has come to my attention that sometimes my replies to messages are heading into junk folders. If you do reach out and don't hear back, please check your junk over the next day or so.*

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
