About me
I specialise in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. I also work with psychosexual issues, drawing on my background in HIV prevention and research where relevant. My approach explores attachment styles alongside the external factors that may be limiting your sense of fulfilment.
My practice is rooted in empathy and a commitment to anti-oppressive values, with a focus on understanding your experiences, how they shape you, and how therapy can support meaningful change. This approach is informed by my professional training and experience, which I bring into the therapeutic space to provide both insight and practical support.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified TA psychotherapeutic counsellor with a Certificate in Couples Therapy. I trained at the renowned Metanoia Institute, known for its relational approach to psychotherapy. I am registered with the UKCP and accredited by the NCPS, both of which uphold high professional and ethical standards.
My work is person-centred, trauma-informed, and rooted in Transactional Analysis. I offer a non-judgmental, collaborative space in which I aim to understand your experiences in their full personal, relational, and social context.
I work relationally and through an ecological lens. Therapy, in my view, is a small-scale reflection of relationships beyond the therapy room — a place for learning what we need in order to be in relationship with ourselves, others, and share space ethically and sustainably.
While I maintain clear professional boundaries, I also aim to create a genuine therapeutic bond. At times I may use thoughtful self-disclosure when it supports your process; at other times I may challenge familiar patterns of thinking, feeling, or behaving. Although this can feel uncomfortable, working through these moments is often central to meaningful and lasting change.
By developing insight into your inner processes and how they influence your behaviour, I will support you in experimenting with new options. Alongside this, I will offer empathic support to help you process difficult experiences and emotions, fostering self-compassion and resilience.
During my training I gained experience in a range of settings, including placements with MCPS, ELOP, and THT, where I worked with both individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds. I also undertook a placement at the Cassel Psychiatric Hospital - which uses a psychiatric community model, and I currently work in a crisis centre.
