About me
I am a Clinical Psychologist with a particular interest in working with neurodivergent individuals, people who have experienced trauma, and those navigating complex emotional, relational, and mental health difficulties. I am deeply passionate about supporting people to heal from the lasting effects of adverse experiences and to move towards recovery, fulfilment, and a stronger sense of self. Improving access to psychological support for marginalised communities is central to my work.
As a Black British woman, I bring both personal and professional insight into the impact of racism and discrimination at individual and systemic levels. These lived experiences inform my approach and my interest in supporting clients to explore the intersections of identity, power, and privilege. I aim to create a therapeutic space where the emotional pain of marginalisation can be safely acknowledged and worked through with compassion.
My professional journey has shaped how I understand emotional distress. Rather than asking, “What is wrong with you?”, I approach therapy with the question, “What has happened to you?” This perspective allows me to see beyond symptoms to the person behind them, and to work with kindness, curiosity, and respect. My aim is to support meaningful healing by addressing difficulties that may be rooted in past experiences.
I am a trauma‑informed and integrative practitioner, drawing on a range of evidence‑based psychological approaches tailored to each individual’s needs. My work is informed by attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), and Mentalisation‑Based Therapy (MBT). Since qualifying, I have worked across inpatient, specialist, and community mental health services, including older adult, forensic, acute, and rehabilitation settings, supporting individuals with complex mental health needs.
In addition to psychological therapy, I am also a trained Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui tradition and a Pellowah practitioner. I offer energy healing sessions as a complementary practice and support those who feel drawn to learning Reiki for themselves. These approaches can support balance, emotional processing, and openness to new perspectives when integrated thoughtfully alongside psychological work.
