About me

About Me
Hi, I’m Aislyn — welcome, and thank you for taking the time to visit my page.

If you’re here, something in life might be feeling heavy or uncertain. Perhaps anxiety or depression has been making it difficult to find balance, or family issues are leaving you emotionally exhausted. Maybe you keep noticing familiar patterns in your relationships or ways of coping that you’d like to change, but you’re not sure where to start.

Whatever has brought you here, I want you to know that you’re not alone — and that change is possible.

Focusing on the Present
Although our past shapes us, my work focuses on what’s happening for you in the here and now. Together, we’ll explore how you experience life today — the emotions, reactions, and sensations that show up in your body and relationships.

Often, we start to notice recurring patterns — ways of thinking, behaving, or relating that once helped you to cope but might now be keeping you stuck. Therapy offers the space to understand these patterns gently and begin to move towards new, more supportive ways of being.

This process isn’t about getting rid of parts of yourself — it’s about understanding them, building self-awareness, and creating space for calm, confidence, and connection.

How I Work
My approach is humanistic, grounded in warmth, empathy, and respect for your unique story. I believe you already have the capacity to heal — sometimes, therapy is simply the space where that healing can begin to unfold.

Alongside talking therapy, I often integrate creative therapies, such as working with a sand tray or using symbols and objects to express feelings that can be difficult to put into words. These approaches can help you explore your inner world in a gentle, intuitive way.

I also draw on attachment theory, helping you understand how your early relationships may influence the way you connect with others now, and somatic awareness, which invites you to notice how emotions are experienced in your body. Together, these approaches can help you feel more grounded, present, and whole.

What to Expect
Therapy with me is a collaborative process — a space where you can be curious about yourself without pressure or judgement. Some sessions might focus on exploring emotions and experiences; others might be more practical, finding ways to manage anxiety, lift low mood, or create healthier boundaries.

Over time, you may find that you:

  • Feel calmer and more in control of your emotions,
  • Experience less anxiety and low mood,
  • Communicate more openly and confidently,
  • Build stronger, more balanced relationships,

Develop a deeper sense of self-trust and inner ease.

Who I Work With
I work with adults who are experiencing:

  • Anxiety or constant overthinking,
  • Depression or feelings of emptiness and low motivation,
  • Family issues or ongoing relationship challenges,
  • Self-doubt, perfectionism, or low self-esteem,
  • Feeling stuck or disconnected from yourself and others.

Whether you’re navigating a specific issue or simply wanting to understand yourself better, therapy can help you move forward with clarity and compassion.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a psychotherapist and counsellor working with adults, supporting clients with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, family issues, trauma, and relationship difficulties.

I hold a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy at distinction level, and I am an accredited registrant (MNCPS, Acc.) for the National Society of Counselling and Psychotherapy (NCPS) and a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I have worked extensively with clients via the NHS, supporting people through challenges in their family relationships, mental health, and emotional wellbeing. My experience has given me insight into the complex ways life events can affect us and how therapy can help us move forward.

I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, combining evidence-based practices with creative methods such as sand tray work and somatic awareness, to help clients explore their experiences and develop practical strategies for change.

I believe therapy is most effective when it is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to the individual.

“Believe you can and you are halfway there .” —  Theodore Roosevelt

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
