About me
Hi, I’m Aisling and I’m a CPCAB Diploma qualified Counsellor, interested in helping people who want a safe space to make sense of the emotions, feelings, and behaviours that seem to be holding them back.
In the shortest way to describe how I work, I think “why the doubt” gets close. Life can throw things all the time that knock our confidence, take energy... bring anger, anxiety, sadness, shame and doubt. Doubt about how we look, whether we’re good enough, smart enough, or strong enough can have a huge effect on relationships, success, and health. Working through counselling can be about helping in a crisis, but it can also be about learning new skills too that help build capacity, to manage difficult emotions, manage doubts, and feel happier.
Whether you choose to come to the therapy space in Runfold, go online, or a blend of both, I'll use my training as a Person-Centred Counsellor to hear and support you. I also draw on Creative Counselling Skills, having seen how hard it can be to verbalise what we feel. Through working in schools with children on emotion regulation, on placement in a local hospice, and laterally with clients, I've seen the difference working in a multi-sensory way with visuals and craft can make.
A registered member of the BACP, I continue to update my skills and knowledge through ongoing online CPD, reading and workshops. I am DBS checked, insured and registered with the ICO.
Training, qualifications & experience
Over the last 30 years I’ve worked in banking, education and hospice environments. I draw from all of it when I sit with someone in the counselling space, but my counselling training and professional experience has given me specific skills to support you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I understand that taking a step into counselling might feel overwhelming. A first time, or a dip back in, 'what if' can come up and sometimes it may feel easier to push feelings aside or these days, even ask AI. Whatever the reason you've found this page, whatever the doubts, you are researching, which is a huge step.
I encourage you to keep going.
You don't have to figure it out alone.
