About me
Are you looking for someone outside of your own circle, to talk about something that feels important to you?
People seek therapy for different reasons, each one as valid and acceptable as the other.
You may be grieving, experiencing a loss of some kind- physical or ambigious.
You may have lost your sense of purpose or direction, struggling to understand how you got here and what's next.
You may be cycling through emotions from the past or repeating behaviours you are struggling to understand and change.
You may want a listening ear where you aren't interrupted, silenced or told what to do, someone who offers a reflection into your world so that you can be seen and heard for who you are.
Whatever it is, however uncomfortable it may feel, I am here to help you through it. Human to human. Nothing about my therapy is pre-rehearsed or prepared, each session is unique and flows oragnically.
I am a professionally trained therapist and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
My practice is grounded in creating a safe and confidential therapeutic space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment or shame- led by you.
Wherever life has taken you, however hard you feel your situation is, whatever emotional pain you are experiencing, therapy can help you feel at ease, help you understand what's going on, and provide an opportunity for change and growth. This is your time.
My therapeutic approach
I offer a talking therapy with practical elements to meet your needs.
This includes mind-body techniques such as Mindfulness and Somatic therapy to create a greater connection between your physical and emotional experiences for a better sense of wholeness and integration. This also helps release tension and emotions that may have become stuck in the body causing uncomforatble symtpoms.
Therapy is a working collaboration and I will always check with your comfort levels before engaging in the practical elements. We will go at your pace- you lead the sessions bringing what is most important to you and I will provide a space to share the things that cannot sometimes be shared with others because only you know when you are safe enough to do so.
Like you, I'm human too and have had my own challenges to face (some requiring more work than others) and therapy has been meaningful to me. I know that finding the right therapist can make all the difference.
Please take the time to find one that feels right for you, at this moment in time. To help you decide please read on about the training I have recieved and what this means.
I have training in:
- Person Centred therapy this is all about keeping the you at the centre of the work. It focuses on active listening, reflection and offering a deep unconditional acceptance of you. Person centred theory believes that you have the answers to your own problems and the therapeutic relationship can help you find them.
- CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy) which focuses on behaviour, thoughts, and feelings related to them, helping you understand what is useful behaviour and change what is no longer helpful to you.
- Gestalt which looks at the person as a whole, the present moment and promotes self- awareness. It works with mind, body and emotions and understanding the more immediate- "here and now" feelings helping you better understand how you relate to others and to situations.
- Psychodynamic- TA (Transactional Analysis) which is a theory that looks at the importance of past experiences and the unconscious, how people relate and exchange messages with others helping to improve relationships and communication. We may discuss childhood, parents or other significant people in your life.
I may combine all these approaches or work solely with one. It all depends on what you feels will be best for you.
Together, we'll create a warm and trusting environment for you to share your experiences and support your journey towards self discovery, empowerment and meaningful change.
Each session is unique to you and no two sessions will be the same. Many of my clients say that they feel much better for having had the first session, which can sometimes feel like the scariest one.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
