About me
Hello,
I’m Addie, short for Adelina,
I’m a Humanistic Integrative Therapist and Specialist Substance Misuse Practitioner, offering a warm, non-judgemental therapeutic space where you can talk openly and at your own pace. I work with adults who are struggling with addiction, eating difficulties, anxiety, low mood, and complex emotional patterns.
I’m the founder of Mind Canvas Counselling, a therapeutic space where art, psychology, and human emotion meet. My work is grounded and professional, but also creative and compassionate. I believe therapy doesn’t have to be heavy all the time - there is room for curiosity, imagination, and moments of lightness too.
How I Work
My approach is Humanistic Integrative, which means I tailor therapy to you as a person, rather than fitting you into a single model. I work relationally and collaboratively, combining emotional depth with psychological understanding.
I also value creativity in therapy. For some people, this may include gentle use of imagery, metaphor, or inner-child work - not as something forced or “arty”, but as a way of reconnecting with parts of ourselves that hold emotion, playfulness, and unmet needs. Supporting our inner world can be a powerful way to support our mental health.
Alongside my private practice, I work within the NHS and specialist services, and my approach is informed by extensive experience with complex and sensitive issues.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
Alongside my specialist work in addiction and eating disorders, I also work with young adults and international clients experiencing psychological and emotional difficulties linked to transition, identity, and adjustment.
- Young Adults & Early Substance Use
I work with young adults who are:
- Experimenting with drugs or alcohol
- Beginning to feel concerned about their use
- Experiencing anxiety, low mood, or emotional dysregulation linked to substance use
- Wanting a space to explore patterns early, before they become entrenched
This work is preventative as well as therapeutic, offering a non-judgemental space to understand risk-taking, coping strategies, peer influence, and emotional needs.
International and Expat Clients
I work with international students and adults who have moved to the UK and are experiencing:
- Anxiety, low mood, or isolation following relocation
- Cultural adjustment and identity challenges
- Loneliness, homesickness, or loss of support networks
- Academic, professional, or family pressures
- Difficulties accessing or understanding the UK mental health systems
Having trained and worked across different cultural contexts, I am experienced in working sensitively with cross-cultural experiences, migration-related stress, and the psychological impact of major life transitions.
