About me

Therapy is about creating a safe, nurturing, nonjudgmental space to reflect, identify self-destructive behaviours and patterns, and process your difficulties. My aim is to help guide you through the process of re-connecting to your own inner wisdom and resources, learning to trust yourself in your life decisions, and rediscovering your unique values, meaning, and purpose.

Often, when we experience painful things, we tend to run away or try to ignore them. This can lead to struggles such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and addiction. By exploring these difficulties in a safe, caring, and observant environment, we can gently come to know them and, in doing so, can shift their hold on our lives. In addition to letting go of difficulties, we can begin the journey of bringing awareness to where our adaptations began and connecting with who we truly are.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP registered counsellor with a Master's in Psychosynthesis Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and a Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership Coaching. I adhere to the BACP ethical framework for good practice.

My practice as an integrative counsellor is dedicated to supporting adults through all stages of life. My experience encompasses a diverse range of clients and issues, including bereavement, loss, and grief; abuse and trauma; addictions; anxiety and depression; loneliness; low self-esteem; stress and anger; existential crises; and matters of meaning, purpose, and spirituality.

I currently practice both online and in person.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

In psychosynthesis we believe that every human being has a vast potential for personal growth and that we have a natural tendency towards harmonising/synthesizing the various aspects of ourselves to grow and evolve. This can often be hindered by personal history, standing in the way of us becoming the fullest realisation of ourselves. When in crisis, we believe something is often unfolding at the level of soul, seeking to emerge, to be known, leading to growth and transformation.

We aim to cooperate with this natural process whilst acknowledging all levels of the ever-changing human experience and assisting in the exploration of body, feelings, mind, and spirit. Working to gently uncover internal conflicts and blocks that may be preventing us from living a more balanced, harmonious, and meaningful life both within ourselves and the greater world around us.

Working to harmonise conflicting parts of the personality. This means the client can identify and with compassion gain understanding and control over these aspects of their being. Over time, enabling them to disidentify from past wounding, destructive patterns, and unhealthy attachments which in turn allows them to attain a higher level of functioning in terms of work, relationships and across other areas of life.
