Welcome to my profile.
The process of counselling helps you to express yourself in ways that are often harder to do in the outside world with friends and family. For me, the therapeutic relationship is the bedrock for positive change
I offer therapy to individuals, couples, families and children in a safe non-judgemental space that promotes change and spiritual growth where you can talk openly about any issues causing distress or concern.
I have over 20 years experience working with clients either short-term or long-term and offer a professional, flexible and creative working environment.
Over the years I have worked with clients facing a wide range of difficulties these include:
- Emotional challenges
- Anxiety & depression
- Panic attacks/generalised anxiety or just feeling sad
- OCD, insomnia and self-harm
- Lack of motivation and direction, including negative effects of stress
- Relationship difficulties (for individuals and couples)
- Workplace bullying to eating disorders and bereavement
- Parents and children
- Young people
Individual Counselling:
Is an opportunity for you to come and talk to me about any struggles or problems that you face with the safety of confidentially and non-judgemental support to help you make sense of things that you are finding hard to cope with.
Couples Counselling:
I offer counselling to help couples gain a better understanding of why their relationships are no longer working. I work with them to improve their communication skills, heal past hurts and resentments and build an action plan to help them turn their relationship around and regain positive energy so that they can focus on creating stronger emotional bonds and gain a new relationship perspective. It also offers the space to gently consider and implement change.
My therapeutic approach is based on an integrative model informed by psycho dynamic thinking and which may include using CBT and Mindfulness strategies depending on each persons unique challenges and needs in order to help facilitate new perspectives and personal change.
This can also include exploring the past and how it may be impacting on the present, helping clients identify unhelpful, negative patterns and how they may have arisen, self-defeating thoughts and beliefs to help them understand and manage their emotional difficulties more effectively.
I invite you to come along for a first session assessment where we can have a chance to meet and discuss what you wish to achieve and change through the therapeutic process.
I am located in Barnes (close to Barnes Bridge and Mortlake Stations) with good bus links as well.
If you would like to have an informal chat before booking, please feel free to give me a call.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
