About me
I am a specialist couples counsellor, Relate certified, and accredited by both BACP and COSRT, with almost thirty years experience of counselling. Qualified at postgraduate level in relationship therapy, I am additionally qualified to work with couples or individuals experiencing difficulty with sexual intimacy and for those whose relationships are affected by depression. Alongside my private practice, I have worked as a relationship counsellor for Relate and for the NHS, and for several years have worked as a clinical manager with responsibility for counselling in the corporate sector.
I recognise that relationship distress can make it feel harder to manage the inevitable ups and downs of life and can affect our self confidence and wellbeing.
You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from couple counselling but many couples do wait until they reach a crisis point. Couple counselling can help you improve your communication, deepen your intimacy and increase your understanding of yourselves and each other.
I commit to offering you a safe space within a caring and supportive environment in which you will be listened to and understood, and together we will work out what you hope to achieve from counselling and ways in which you can achieve your goals.
While counselling isn't advice giving, I offer strategies and approaches, based on established research into the behaviours which help to promote fulfilling relationships.
Common difficulties I work with include:
- Struggling to communicate well
- Arguing over the same thing time and again
- Drifting apart as a couple
- Worrying about work or family
- Coping with the aftermath of an affair
- Considering separation or divorce
- Having issues with sex and intimacy
- Being single and wanting to be in a relationship
- Life changes such as
- New baby
- Children leaving home
- Retirement
My consulting room is in Witney where I offer face to face sessions. For those who prefer, I offer remote sessions via Zoom.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.
All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
