UKCP-Accredited EFT-Certified Couples Therapist

About me

Couples Counselling

If you are struggling in your relationship, it can feel miserable at times, and very confusing to know what to do. I can help you find a way through. Sometimes your problems become too much - distrust has replaced intimacy and you don't know how to re-connect with your partner. As a relationship counsellor I do not take sides, but I will guide both of you to explore difficult and painful feelings in a safe, kind and respectful setting. I will help you to develop awareness and skills so that you can resolve areas of conflict or disconnection and find greater love and trust between you.

My Therapy Qualifications

I have been a psychotherapist for 20 years, trained at the Institute of Psychosynthesis. I specialise in working with couples, and I am a Qualified Relationship/Couples Counsellor trained at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE). I am additionally certified in Couples Therapy with Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT). I am registered with the main accrediting body UKCP. My work draws on Psychodynamic, Attachment, Systemic, Humanist, Transpersonal and Mindfulness traditions as well as the more recent findings in the field of neuroscience, trauma and bodywork.

What should I expect?

The sessions are your space: I listen to you and offer feedback, insights and guidance. Your session is an hour long and is at the same time every week. We normally work for 4 sessions and then have a discussion to find out whether you think the therapy is going to be helpful to you. I will indicate roughly how long you may need in order to feel the benefits in your life although it is your decision when you are ready to leave.

Your introductory first session is half-price.

Meditation

I am an accredited mindfulness meditation teacher and have been teaching meditation for over 30 years. I teach a simple meditation / relaxation technique to help give your mind a rest from anxious and repetitive thoughts. This can be very helpful in reducing stress, anxiety and depression.
