About me
I am a highly experienced psychotherapist offering one to one therapy, relationship therapy, and clinical supervision. I have been a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist since 2002 and practised within the NHS as a Highly Specialist Psychotherapist from 2006-2018. Prior to this I practised as a GP Counsellor for five years. My private practice is based in Herne Bay, Kent, where I offer face to face and online sessions.
In my work as a Humanistic-Psychodynamic practitioner I have gathered extensive experience in working with people who present with many different emotional and psychological difficulties such as: problematic relationships, sadness and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma and abuse, impulsive behaviours, self-harming and addiction concerns.
Emotional and psychological difficulties can become debilitating to the point they can impair the quality of our every day life. Psychotherapy provides a space in which experiences and difficult feelings can be sensitively thought about, and where you can feel heard and understood. This experience ideally leads to greater self-awareness, to better understanding of your personal relationships, and to an understanding of the psychological patterns which underlie your presenting symptoms.
If you would like to talk through your concerns in a private confidential setting you can arrange an initial consultation, and then from this take the time you need to consider if you want to proceed with therapy.
To arrange an appointment please telephone or send me an email with your contact details. I will then contact you at my earliest convenience.
As a UKCP registered Clinical Supervisor I offer one to one and group supervision to Psychotherapists, Counsellors, Counselling Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists.
I am a registered Psychotherapist with medical providers : AXA-PPP, BUPA, WPA and VITALITY.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
