Counselling Practitioner belonging to a register that is approved by The Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, which is an independent body accountable to Parliament. MY therapeutic work is bound by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

My style of therapy is Integrated with the the Humanistic approach at its core. This means that I stand by the premise that everyone has within them the capacity to grow and develop and so lead productive and happy lives. I believe the client always knows best therefor encourage you to find those answers that will power you forward.

I have trained in Cognitive Behavioural techniques, I use tools taken from this therapy when deemed useful. C.B.T. has been well researched, and proven highly successful in restoring balance to a clients life. Its premise is that by changing the way you view the world changes the way you feel. It is a powerful and challenging therapy for those ready for change. Very useful for anxiety, panic attacks, and OCD.

Fully experienced fully qualified member of The British Association of counsellors and psychotherapists counsellors (BACP) available different times of the week and evening appointments.

I am bound by BACPs ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy and subject to the professional conduct procedures there in.
BACP also has a complaints procedure you can have access to should things go wrong. I am insured and covered to work in my office and at your home if you have a disability that means you cant travel, with young people and adults. I have an advanced criminal records disclosure (CRB) needed to work with young people this is updated yearly. Also government security checked for official secrets act working (police) My experience is vast and covers 20 years continual counselling. More details found on the web site.

I have ran my private practice in Little Sutton for 16 years here I work with couples and individuals and have referrals from GPs, schools and EAPs, couples counselling, I have wrote and facilitated anger management 10 week courses for young people over four years for youth service.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
