About me
I provide a professional psychotherapy service offering therapy to adults, children and young people and an employee assistance service for businesses in addition to a Clinical Supervision service.
I use the Human Givens approach, which is highly effective in, helping people to overcome any emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties as quickly as possible.
I also offer FREE counselling for Veterans of the Armed Forces in association with the Charity PTSD Resolution.
Training, qualifications & experience
Judith Desbonne is qualified to Advanced Diploma level in Human Givens psychotherapy and is also a registered psychiatric nurse with 30 years of experience in the mental health sector including the Child and adolescent mental health service. (CAMHS)
She is also an accredited supervisor having completed the Human Givens college Supervision training course.
She is a Fellow member of the Human Givens Institute (FHGI) and an accredited member of the European Therapy Studies institute (ETSI) and the Human Givens Institute (HGI)

Member organisations
The Human Givens Institute (HGI) is both a membership organisation and a professional body representing the interests of those in the caring and teaching professions who have an interest in or utilise the human givens approach. Counselling Directory register Registered Members (MHGI) and Fellow Members (FHGI), who will have completed the Post Graduate Practitioner's Assessment (Part III) and who are fully qualified to practise as a human givens therapist or counsellor. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Couples therapy rate: £160 (up to 90 mins)Children aged 16 and under £75 (65 mins)
Supervision session (Individual) £75 per hour. £40 for half an hour £60 for 45 minutes
Supervision session (Group) £160 per hour (minimum of 3 people)

I use the Human Givens approach which consists of a combination of up-to-date, effective techniques that includes cognitive behavioural approaches, relaxation and visualisation.
Primarily I focus on the current difficulties that you are having and how you would like your future to be.
There is no need for you to give details about your past or to discuss traumatic events that you do not want to talk about.
