About me
Stressed, confused, alone with your thoughts? I can offer you a peaceful and nurturing space to offload and unpick what's on your mind. I am an experienced accredited person-centred counsellor/psychotherapist working in a pluralistic way, which means that 'different clients need different support at different times'. Personal therapy was a prerequisite for my training so I also have much experience of being the client.
Our lives are a complex mix of relationships, emotions and pressures, which are made more stressful and overwhelming by life events such as bereavement and loss, traumatic experiences and relationship breakdown. I believe that we all have the capacity and 'tools' within us to cope with what life throws at us, but these can be 'locked up' by how we have responded to past events which could have made us become dis-empowered and vulnerable.
I am also an experienced trainer and supervisor. Please get intouch if any of these areas are of interest.
I offer face-to-face sessions at my premises, either inside or in a covered outdoor space - both very private -but also offer sessions by phone, Zoom or WhatsApp video. Face to face sessions are preferable for most people as this is more effective at developing the beneficial relationship that aids effective therapy. Please do get in touch to discuss how therapy could work for you and which is the best option for you. I can be flexible on the duration and frequency of sessions
I also offer supervision to the caring professions. I have much experience of clinical supervision and am at present consolidating that through study.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
