About me

Welcome to my profile.

I'm an experienced  counsellor and supervisor , seeing clients at my Exeter  practice or on Skype. After more than ten years living and working in Edinburgh, I recently relocated to Exeter. My family has had a connection with the West Country for 35 years, and I'm delighted to be closer to them, in what is a beautiful part of the U.K.  (and slightly warmer than Edinburgh!).

My counselling approach can help with a range of issues including;

  • Anxiety
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Depression
  • Feeling sad
  • Family issues
  • University student issues
  • Low self confidence
  • Low self esteem
  • Stress management
  • Separation and divorce
  • Relationship breakup
  • Bereavement
  • Grief and loss
  • Emotional abuse
  • Womens health and wellbeing

I offer a safe and caring space where we can explore your issues and concerns, help you gain new understanding and perspectives, and explore ways to bring about positive change and new balance to your life.

  • An experienced Counsellor ,a member of the BACP, on the BACP Register accredited by the Department of Health, and fully insured for my work.
  • A qualified experienced Counselling Supervisor; on the University of Edinburgh approved list of supervisors.
  • An approved Counsellor for the Lifeworks organisation ( Employee Assistance Programme)

My professional background includes senior management and staff development roles in the recruitment sector, with experience of employability and other career issues, including workplace relationships difficulties and workplace bullying and stress.

Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked as a freelance learning and development consultant specialising in management development , and as a licensed trainer for the award winning Springboard Womens’ Development Programme. I was also co- founder and for 4 years Chair of the Women in Management Network ( part of the CMI)in Scotland.

During my time in Edinburgh I worked with a wide range of clients and issues including students at the nearby universities and colleges, supporting them on a range of issues, such as coping with the move to university, pre existing mental health issues, low levels of confidence, exam stress syndrome, and many others.

I understand that choosing a Counsellor can be quite difficult, there are a lot of us! You need to be sure the person you’ve chosen is the right one for you and feel comfortable working with them, so to help you decide I offer the option of a half hour low cost informal consultation

I also offer online appointments via Skype . I'm happy to offer you a low cost 30 minute online meeting for you to try this method out for yourself.

You can call on 07740678218 or send an email; either way if I’m not immediately available I’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
