About me

I currently have some availability for face to face counselling sessions.

I'm a very experienced and approachable counsellor and counselling supervisor based in Exeter and online. My counselling approach can be of help and provide support for a range of issues and life events e.g.,  anxiety, depression,  trauma, ADHD , relationships, imposter syndrome, bullying, low confidence , low self esteem,  bereavement, Womens' issues and life events, issues of later life

  • Exploring your feelings and experiences in a  welcoming, confidential non-judgmental counselling relationship can provide you with valuable support, new understanding and perspectives and reduced self criticism. Counselling can also help you find new ways to deal with the issues that are currently challenging your life balance , mental health and wellbeing.
  • I work with adults from age 18 upwards.
  • I can offer guidance with how to get the best from being in online counselling. 

My experience:

  • I’m a very experienced counsellor. A registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists (BACP), and work to the code of ethics set down by the BACP ethical framework.
  • I’m also a qualified and experienced supervisor offering supervision to  qualified  counsellors, and those working in job roles where it’s helpful for their wellbeing to have a safe caring space to explore their work and its impact on them.

Professional background:

  • Prior to becoming a counsellor I worked as a freelance learning and development consultant, coach and mentor, specialising in management development, personal development, Womens' development and stress management.
  • I've also had senior roles in the recruitment sector.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The fee for an optional  30 minute informal consultation is £20
Thereafter the fees are £65 per 50 minute session

Some concessions are available, e.g. students, seniors and low waged, so please just ask and I'll do my best to help.
