About me

Hello and welcome to a Journey of Deep Healing and Transformation

I’m Philip Rowe, and if you are considering working with me, I appreciate you taking this important step. Choosing a therapist or supervisor is a meaningful decision, and I honour the care and discernment involved in that process.

I am a psychotherapist, therapeutic supervisor, shamanic practitioner, and energy healer, with over two decades of professional experience supporting individuals since 1998. My work is guided by a deep vocational calling: to support people in healing unresolved wounds, reconnecting with their authentic self, and stepping into a more empowered, meaningful, and fulfilling way of living.

My approach draws on transpersonal psychology, integrative psychotherapy, and time-honoured spiritual and shamanic traditions. This enables a depth-oriented, carefully tailored therapeutic process that honours both psychological integrity and the spiritual dimensions of human experience. Whether you are seeking the structured containment of psychotherapy, the transformative depth of shamanic healing, or a thoughtful integration of both, our work together will be shaped around your individual needs, values, and readiness.

Healing, as I understand it, is not solely about alleviating symptoms or resolving difficulties. It is a process of remembering your inherent wholeness, reclaiming inner authority, and living with greater alignment, presence, and freedom. My role is to offer a safe, grounded, and attuned therapeutic space in which this unfolding can naturally occur.

If something in this approach resonates with you, you are welcome to make contact for an initial conversation, where we can explore whether working together feels like the right fit for you at this time. Taking that first step can be the beginning of a deeply meaningful and transformative journey

Training, qualifications & experience

Experience, Depth, and Integrated Practice

Over many years of clinical practice and advanced training, I have developed extensive experience working across both public and private sectors. My background includes addiction and mental health services, GP-referred therapy, and long-standing private practice. This breadth has allowed me to work with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, life circumstances, and therapeutic needs, always adapting my approach to the person in front of me.

Alongside my psychotherapy and clinical supervision work, I have undertaken in-depth training in shamanic and energy-based healing traditions, including Celtic and North American lineages, as well as teachings informed by Santo Daime. These influences are woven thoughtfully and responsibly into my work, supporting healing processes that honour both psychological integration and spiritual meaning, without overriding personal belief systems or clinical boundaries.

For ten years, I also served as a firefighter, working in environments that demanded calm presence, emotional steadiness, and clear decision-making under pressure. This experience deeply shaped my capacity to remain grounded and regulated in moments of crisis. It continues to inform the way I work therapeutically: steady, attuned, and able to hold complex emotional material with care and clarity.

I am committed to ongoing personal and professional development and view learning as a lifelong process. My work today reflects decades of refinement, supervision, and integration, ensuring that clients and supervisees receive support that is ethical, well-contained, and responsive to their evolving needs.

My work is grounded in compassion, integrity, and professional responsibility, providing a space where clients can feel safe enough to explore, heal, and change at their own pace.

Transformation, in my experience, unfolds most effectively when people feel seen, respected, and supported. My role is to walk alongside you in that process, offering steadiness, insight, and care as deeper healing becomes possible.

Shamanic Practice, Sacred Space Holding & Energy Work
Alongside my psychotherapy and clinical supervision practice, I also work as a shamanic practitioner, sacred space holder, and energy healer. This aspect of my work is rooted in long-standing training, personal discipline, and a deep respect for the responsibility involved in facilitating altered, symbolic, and ceremonial states of healing.

My shamanic practice integrates a range of earth-based and energetic modalities, offered with care, consent, and clear intention. These may include:

Shamanic Drum Healing
Shamanic Drum Circle Facilitation
Sweat Lodge Pouring and Facilitation
Plant-medicine–informed ceremonial work, including preparation, detoxification, and purification practices
Kambo Practice
Soul Retrieval
Chakra Cleansing and Energetic Alignment
Energy Healing and Energetic Attachment Release
Relationship and Ancestral Cord Healing
Shamanic Medicine Drum Making and the creation of other ceremonial tools
All such work is approached with reverence, clear boundaries, and careful integration, and is offered only where appropriate and mutually agreed. Psychological safety, personal autonomy, and respectful pacing are central to how I hold this work.

Mentorship, Training & Transmission
In addition to one-to-one and group healing work, I offer mentorship and practical training for those who feel called to deepen their relationship with shamanic practice. This includes guidance in:

Establishing and facilitating shamanic drum circles
Creating and holding shamanic drum birthing ceremonies
Preparing for and facilitating sweat lodge ceremonies with respect and responsibility
This mentoring is suited to those who wish to develop their practice in a grounded, ethical, and well-held way, rather than rushing into facilitation without adequate preparation.

An Invitation
If you feel drawn to explore these practices, or sense a readiness to deepen your own shamanic path, you are welcome to make contact. Any initial conversation is an opportunity to explore suitability, intention, and readiness, and to ensure that the work feels aligned and supportive for you.
