About me

Thank you for visiting my profile.

I am a Counselling Psychotherapist usually working from Essex House in Ongar, Essex. Due to the COVID-19 i am currently only offering either Facetime video sessions or through Whatsapp video sessions.

I have many years of experience working in professional organisations that dealt specifically with anxiety, bereavement, stress and depression along with many years working in private practice.

I offer a safe, supportive and confidential environment in which we can work.

Although I work in a Psychodynamic way, which means I work along side the client to explore past experiences to understand the clients difficulties in the present, I also have experience and training in other approaches, therefore, I am able to adapt my therapy sessions depending on what the client needs or requires.

I offer both long and short-term work with individuals aged 16 and over.
I am a member of the B.A.C.P and on the B.A.C.P accredited voluntary register.

Getting started

  • You can either call me or email me.
  • We can discuss what brings you to seek counselling/psychotherapy.
  • We can mutually arrange a time and date to meet in a professional setting and discuss further how counselling/psychotherapy can help you.
  • We can then decide together if we want to work with one another.
  • As far as possible each session would be arranged for the same time and day of the week (though there is of course flexibility, should you want it).

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Reviews/Testimonials from past clients

I was really struggling to deal with the things in my life I couldn't change. It began to effect the smallest things and the relationships with those close to me. I had a year of therapy and Nicola would help me unload my worries each week and work out how to respond better.

Six months on from therapy I can see SUCH an improvement in my mood. The things I cannot change in life haven't gone anywhere but the way I am able to respond to them has changed totally.

It's helped me feel not so alone when carrying heavy burdens and has had a lasting effect. Thank you so much. Client H.

This was my first experience of therapy and I am so happy with how it turned out! Nicola is an amazing therapist and has helped me completely transformed my life! I highly recommend her to all my friends and family! I wouldn't be the me that I am now without Nicola! it's a lovely safe environment to be completely vulnerable and open.
Client M

Nicola was amazing at helping me unravel the confusion I was feeling over my relationship and helped me to identify how past experiences were impacting on my current thoughts and behaviours. Nicola helped me to address the trauma left by these experiences and I now feel free and able to move on in my life leaving it all behind. I can't thank her enough as I didn't think I'd ever feel free of the pain. I would highly recommend using this counselling service.
Nicola is very easy to talk to and most importantly remembers every little detail she's told which is important because it means she really listens.
Excellent service! Client F
