Counselling by telephone through Wales and the UK.,and face to face either at your own home or the Hall in Llandeillo
Life can seem overwhelming at times. Whether you’re living with anxiety, bereavement, depression, relationship difficulties, loneliness or simply feeling that something isn’t quite right , you don’t have to face it alone.
I offer safe , confidential and non- judgemental space where we can explore what’s happening for you and find a way forward together.
My experience in healthcare , together with over twenty years supporting bereaved clients through Cruse Bereavement Care , has given me a deep understanding of the emotional challenges people face throughout life.
I am a qualified counsellor with a person-centred approach, integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques where appropriate. I believe that every individual has the capacity for growth and healing when they feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. Together, we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, helping you gain insight, develop coping strategies, and move towards positive change.

Reaching out isn’t always easy.
Whether you contact me by telephone , text or email, you’ve already taken the first step.
I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
Bringing decades of experience in healthcare, counselling and bereavement support.
Clients often tell me they value having someone who listens without judgement, offers genuine compassion, and brings a wealth of life and professional experience to each session."
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel difficult, but you don't have to face life's challenges alone. I offer a warm, safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, feel listened to, and explore whatever is affecting your wellbeing.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years as a fully qualified nurse. My nursing career gave me a deep understanding of the emotional and physical challenges that people can face throughout their lives, and it continues to inform my compassionate and holistic approach to counselling.
Alongside my professional roles, I volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Care from 2002 to 2024, supporting adults, children, and young people through bereavement. During this time, I developed a particular specialism in supporting those bereaved by suicide, offering sensitive, compassionate care during some of life's most difficult moments.
I welcome clients of all ages and from all walks of life. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, I provide a supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, I have seen how people's emotional wellbeing and support needs have changed, regardless of age or background. My aim is to offer counselling that is flexible, accessible, and tailored to your individual circumstances.
Sessions are available either face to face or by telephone. Many clients appreciate the convenience and comfort that telephone counselling provides, making it easier to access support around work, family, or other commitments - no matter where you are -
Through the medium of the telephone, you can reach out either locally or further afield in Wales and the United Kingdom.
Appointments are generally available between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, with evening appointments from 6:30 pm. I offer flexible appointment days wherever possible.
Whatever has brought you here, you will be met with empathy, respect, and understanding. My hope is to help you find clarity, build resilience, and move forward with confidence, knowing you don't have to face life's challenges on your own.
Phone/ text/ email/ face to face.
I OFFER:
Face to face sessions
Telephone sessions.
Home visits
Walk and Talk sessions
If you have not had counselling before -it can be a little daunting. The first session is you and I getting to know each other, for you to feel comfortable, to discuss your issues sensitively. You can then decide whether you wish to make further appointments.
Usually, we contract for four to six sessions and then review. You may need more, you may need less - it is entirely up to you.
I really look forward to helping you through to the future.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

TESTIMONIAL
Thank You Jo!
I write this poem because I wanted to say
Thank You Jo for your understanding caring way
I felt in my heart that you could understand
How to give me that extra, unique helping hand.
I realised early on....right from the start
That you could see and feel the pain in my heart.
I'd lost my son Rhydian, also my mum and my dad
And I felt hopeless, weak...and deeply sad.
Your experience, counselling and care was the expertise
That helped me talk...because I felt at ease.
You helped me move forward as you listened so much,
And your words of guidance had that loving touch.
When we first met I couldn't cope...I was a real mess,
But with your help, times like that got less and less.
You lightened my load on my journey through grief,
And helped me grow stronger and restore my belief
That my mind could get out of this dark sad place
To live my life with hope, faith, strength and grace.
On earth my son and my parents could no longer be,
But you guided me to realise and helped me see
That the good memories would get stronger everyday
And in my mind and heart they would forever stay.
Now I remember them with my heart full of joy
My Dad, my Mum and Rhydian my special boy!
Thanks and Best Wishes from Enfysxxxx
