BA (Hons) MBACP (Snr. Accred) Counsellor and Supervisor

About me

Hello and thank you for considering me as counsellor for either YOURSELF or your CHILD. I am a BACP Senior Accredited counsellor, qualified since 2006, to degree level, to work with INDIVIDUALS FROM THE AGE OF 5 and am the founding counsellor of East Surrey Counselling Group.

Please note I am on leave Mon 15th to Tues 30th August and will answer all enquiries upon my return. I work as part of a team of counsellors in Godstone and they can each be individually contacted during my absence by accessing their phone numbers on our website www.eastsurreycounsellinggroup.co.uk

I also work as a Supervisor for Counsellors and welcome calls from counsellors looking for a  Supervisor.

I work from my consulting room in the lovely village of Godstone, Surrey which is close to Redhill and Caterham and two minutes by car from the M25 Junction 6. I have experience of working for different agencies and as a school counsellor, which have all added to my knowledge and understanding.

I work to suit each individual person and can offer you empathy, understanding and a weekly commitment to work hard with you or your child to help you or them overcome difficulties and stumbling blocks towards a better future.

Please contact me with any queries or questions or to arrange an initial appointment in which we will explore your difficulties and see if we feel we can work well together. This initial appointment costs £55 but I allow 1.5 hrs instead of the normal 60 minute weekly session time so that we have plenty of time for exploration and getting to know each other a little. I work with clients Tuesday to Friday.

My weekly session fees is £55, with some concessions available. Concessions are agreed between us depending on your circumstances when we meet for our first session.

If, when you contact me, my practice is full, I can refer you to my colleagues Anne-Marie Cole,  Gosia Pawlowska, Janine Webb, Karen Livermore or Yvonne Robinson who are also part of East Surrey Counselling Group. We have two rooms in Godstone, both purpose decorated and equipped.  Anne-Marie works with older adolescents, adults and couples on Monday mornings,  Janine with any individuals Monday - Wednesday afternoons and evenings, Gosia (who can also offer counselling in Polish) with ages 11+ on Thursday and Friday afternoons and evenings, Yvonne (specialist in working with sexual abuse survivors, recent or historical) all ages Friday afternoons and evenings and Saturday mornings and Karen all ages Monday and Tuesday afternoons and evenings.

In addition to my counselling work I run a training organisation for fellow counsellors, CB Counsellor Training Ltd, so my CPD commitment is always up to date and taken seriously.

I look forward to hearing from you when you are ready.

Warmest wishes until then
Carol

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Key details

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
