About me

I offer a confidential space for clients'  who are taking the time to face issues that may seem insurmountable or difficult. If you are experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, depression, or feelings of low self esteem; taking the 'space and time' to speak with a qualified therapist can help facilitate a way forward.

I am a registered and accredited

psychological practitioner, working privately in South Woodford, offering individual therapy for adult clients.
Bupa/AXA PPP/Aviva & Vitalityhealth recognised therapist.

My work is informed by my former experience working within the NHS and in the voluntary sector for a National Bereavement organisation.  This has given me opportunity to work with a diverse client group and a wide range of issues for over a eighteen year period. If you would like further information, please access my website at www.margaretlennoncounselling.co.uk

During the initial meeting,  you will have the time to speak about your concerns.  This meeting is for 50 minutes and will give you an opportunity to see if you will be comfortable with me as your therapist and to gain some focus for the way forward.

My work as a Humanistic Integrative therapist means that I draw on a range of therapeutic models to respond effectively to clients'. My first degree in Psychology led onto my training in Psychological Counselling at City University in 1997. I have a specialist qualification in Bereavement counselling and Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. Additionally, CBT cert' from Bristol University (UWE)

I adhere to the framework laid down by the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy code of ethics & framework for good practice. I am also committed to on going professional development, with additional trainings listed below:

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
