About me
This may be the start of your new journey, and I understand that looking to find a counsellor may be daunting. You may have questions like, will they be able to help me, what will it be like?
In your session you will have the time to focus on yourself and feel really listened to and understood. As we go through our lives we may stay in old patterns and ways that may lead to us feeling unhappy with life and ourselves. I will help you work through things that may be keeping you stuck and find new ways to move forward, helping you to be more the way you want to be.
I have been a therapist since 2005 and have much experience working with clients with anxiety, low self esteem, depression, loss and bereavement, panic disorder, OCD, family issues, relationship problems, trauma, domestic abuse, disability and autism.
I have a peaceful and discreet environment to work with you in and help you with what you need in your sessions, either short or long term using a variety of approaches. Depending on your needs, sessions will always be tailored to suit you. I can also see you via video link if that is more convenient.
My past work has included working within the Youth Offending Team and Probation Services. Family work within Social services working with adults, vulnerable adults and children. Work with women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.
I abide to the BACP code of ethics and have regular supervision to ensure I work efficiently and with respect with my clients.
I have a BACP approved 1st class honours degree (B.A.hons) in Humanistic Counselling using Transactional Analysis, a play therapy certificate and training in autism and disability, mindfulness, and various counselling skills using art and sand tray work. I have specialist areas in trauma and domestic abuse.
My belief is we all have the potential to make changes throughout our lives given the right tools and environment.
If you feel now is the time to try a new approach please do get in touch via email or phone to discuss your situation.
I hold a current enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
