About me
I am a person-centred counsellor Senior Accredited with BACP, Sessions are at your pace, acceptance, confidentiality and trust being paramount. My private practice is in a relaxed, confidential, comfortable setting, non-clinical but professional. Central to my approach is you as a person rather than the issues that you present. I offer face to face, telephone, and on-line if requested, and also home-visits
I have been qualified since 1996, working predominantly in health care environments both Private and NHS [primary and secondary care],more laterly I have extensive experience with Employee Assistance Programmes on a national level.
My aim would be to try and understand your world, what you think, feel and believe, valuing your view. I aim to give you acceptance and respect, enabling you to gain a greater understanding of yourself. Sessions are not prescriptive, but would be mutually discussed to suit your needs and regularity.
I offer a Introductory session [30min] were we can meet to discuss counselling and this is often a helpful meeting whereby you can decide whether you feel comfortable and safe to share with me and pursue the counselling process.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information
Counselling usually begins with an initial meeting, during which you will be able to sense whether you are at ease with me and would like to have further sessions. Counselling may begin at this point, or we may discuss terms of our working agreement and by talking gain a sense of whether engaging further into a professional relationship would be beneficial.
If you contact me and I can't answer in person please feel free to leave a message. I will return your call!
