About me
You may be looking for a counsellor because you are suffering from a crisis in your life, lost your sense of purpose, unsure what direction your life is taking, feeling that your life is out of control or seeking some kind of perspective on your life and work. Whatever your reason my comprehensive training, skills and experience mean that I can tailor the work to a style to suit you.
I am open to allow you to explore whatever is of concern to you meaning that the focus may change during our work together. This is not unusual during the counselling process as we will be exploring issues holistically in the context of your life. Although sometimes distressing, any concerns can be seen as holding the potential for change and growth. I believe that we all have the potential for personal growth and can gain a better understanding of ourselves.
My approach is non directive and creative and by exploring unconscious and past experiences, can uncover patterns which may be influencing current behaviours. Although I may encourage you at times to look from a different perspective I will never tell you what to do. It is for you to come to your own conclusions with my support, even if things appear muddled and confusing to begin with.
I am based in Longwell Green, between Bath and Bristol. Being a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) accredited counsellor I abide by their ethical framework for good practice.
Training, qualifications & experience
I Have worked in various counselling agencies and healthcare settings since 1998 gaining a wide range of experience. I am a graduate of Bath Centre for Psychotherapy & Counselling (BCPC) where I qualified as a Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor.

I work with individuals including young people, corporate organisations and the public sector. I facilitate groups and workshops.
I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor and provide individual and group supervision to both qualified & trainee therapists and other healthcare professionals.
I also supervise & assess social work students in their work placements as part of their social work degree course in conjunction with local universities.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
