About me
I can help you work through your issues by listening attentively and without judgement to how things are for you. I am committed to understanding you, accepting you and helping you find your way.
Prior to the pandemic I already had many years experience in offering telephone and online therapy and currently I have paused working in person face to face until I can ensure your safety when doing so. Therefore I am offering video conferencing or telephone sessions only at present.
I am a person centred counsellor and this means that I work with you holistically as a whole person rather than a series of issues. I have been working in this way for more than 15 years and have experience of working with people experiencing difficulties in a wide range of areas which include, Relationship issues, Depression, Stress (including work stress), Anxiety, Anger, Childhood sexual abuse and Bereavement .....to name but a few.
My aim is to provide you with a safe place to explore what is going on for you. Having the opportunity to talk freely, and know that you are being heard by someone who is not going to judge you or jump in with advice, can make a huge difference.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
