Tony Stanley Counsellor & Psychotherapist UKCP Accred & BPC Reg
32 Upper Street
With sixteen years experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist I aim to create a safe, comfortable and secure environment where you can talk, be heard non-judgmentally and in complete confidence and feel supported. I have helped many clients make sense and understanding of what may have previously felt incomprehensible and feel better about themselves.
Whilst there's no definitive list most people I see come feeling one or more of anxiety, depression, anger, stress, panic attacks, low self-esteem or find relationships difficult. Sometimes feelings may seem confusing or out of proportion to the event that triggered them or don't seem to arise from anything specific at all. Or relationships fall into the same pattern and become unsatisfying. I hope that through a creative therapeutic and non-judgemental relationship you can find greater self awareness.
By helping you to understand why you feel the way you do we can create a platform from where you can change the way you feel about yourself, relate differently to others and move to a life that feels more satisfying. You can decide the pace at which you want to go and for how long it feel right to continue. Our therapeutic relationship will be a reflection of that, unique to you and for what you are wanting from therapy.
I have experience seeing women and men of all ages and ethnicities. If you're thinking about starting but aren't sure I'm happy to have a brief conversation over the phone without obligation.
I'm based in Islington in a purpose-built suite of therapy rooms offering a calm and quiet environment for therapy either just across the road from Angel tube. Local buses from the City, West End, Stoke Newington and Hackney stop outside or nearby. On street meter parking is available nearby.
