Supervision details
I’m Jamie Burns, a counsellor and clinical supervisor behind Blue Sky Therapy. I hold an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision, including Online and Telephone Working. My approach is warm, down to earth and practical.
I want supervision to be a space where you can speak openly about your work. That includes the sessions that go well, the moments when you feel stuck, and the client work that stays with you afterwards. You don’t need to arrive with everything worked out.
Together, we can explore what your clients bring, what’s happening in the therapeutic relationship and how the work affects you. I offer support and thoughtful challenge, with space to consider ethical questions, boundaries and your development as a practitioner.
My counselling specialities include anxiety, panic, stress and burnout. I also support people with ADHD-related difficulties and concerns around alcohol use. My work often involves overthinking, emotional overwhelm, self-criticism and coping patterns that have become difficult to change.
As an integrative practitioner, I draw on different approaches to suit the person in front of me. I bring that same curiosity to supervision, helping you think through your choices and develop confidence in your own way of working.
Before counselling, I spent around 20 years in finance, operations and leadership. That experience gives me an understanding of workplace pressure, responsibility and how easily our own needs can slip down the list.
Through Blue Sky Therapy, I aim to offer supervision where you feel comfortable being yourself, able to ask difficult questions and supported to grow.
