Supervision details

Hi, I’m Poppy, a fully qualified psychodynamic counsellor and clinical supervisor based in Colchester, offering warm, supportive and reflective clinical supervision for counsellors and therapists.

I believe good supervision should provide a space where you can feel supported, challenged and understood as a practitioner. Alongside thinking carefully about your clients and clinical work, supervision can also be a place to reflect on your own responses, develop your confidence and consider how you are growing into your role as a therapist.

My own therapeutic background is primarily psychodynamic, with influences from Jungian and person centred approaches. I offer clinical supervision for counsellors and therapists from an integrative and relational perspective, tailoring supervision to the individual practitioner and their experience.

Supervision can provide space to explore clinical concerns, ethical dilemmas, boundaries, risk, therapeutic relationships, transference and countertransference, as well as the feelings and uncertainties that can arise when working with clients. I also welcome discussion around professional development, working with children and young people, and developing your own therapeutic identity.

I aim to create a supervision relationship that feels collaborative rather than prescriptive. I will offer challenge and different perspectives where useful, while respecting that you are the therapist working with your client and that you ultimately need to develop your own clinical judgement.

Whether you are a newly qualified counsellor looking for clinical supervision in Colchester, an experienced therapist wanting a reflective space to support your practice, or somewhere in between, I would be happy to have an initial conversation about your supervision needs.

I offer in-person supervision in Colchester from a calm and private space, as well as online clinical supervision for counsellors and therapists further afield.

If you would like to find out more about supervision, please contact me at poppy.noy@outlook.com to arrange a free 15-minute telephone consultation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
