Supervision details
I am offering a relational experience of supervision, putting in to practice my counselling skills and experience, and drawing on my coaching, training and mentoring skills that I have had from pervious work in the youth service, councils and local authorities, agencies and schools over the period of 20 years.
Within the supervision relationship I will encourage you to explore emotional and physical feelings and thoughts and behaviours in the context in which they arise. Working in this way is designed to help enhance the work between you and your clients. It provides you the opportunity to get a sense of your work so together issues can be explored along with the challenges and dilemmas of the work.
I will also be encouraging us to look at the relationship between supervisor and supervisee, what we bring to the relationship and what this might translate for the client work. Similar to my work as a therapist I sit with openness and believe that the client is the expert on themselves, I will be of the same belief that you know your clients best, and what we discover together in supervision what you might be holding, or sensing or avoiding, and wanting or needing. You can arrive at supervision as you are, with a curiosity without needing to know the answers or feel you have things sorted, I aim to give you something to leave with from supervision, and feel supported.
My own supervision experience has given me strength, encouragement, insight, relationship patterns of reflections and a safe space to learn, in other words it is invaluable, and I would not want to be a therapist without benefiting from supervision. Thus I am motivated to offer the same to my own supervisees continuing the work and support that we offer our clients.
I am continuing to deepen my clinical knowledge through Optima’s Level 7 attachment-based training, which includes advanced work in attachment-focused psychotherapy, clinical supervision, couples therapy and working with trauma.
I will offer a reduced rate for the first 3 sessions at £60 1.5 hours. Available sessions will be on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday afternoon.
