Supervision details

Ensuring safety and encouraging growth with an egalitarian approach.

I know how important it is to work with a supervisor who compliments your style of working whilst guiding and encouraging growth in your practice, so here's a bit about me... I'm nature orientated and use analogies to aid therapy work. I'm Person Centred and creatively trained with a passion for Jungian psychology, and I am very driven when it comes to supporting counsellors with their practice.

Supervision with myself involves regular meetings where counsellors can discuss their cases, ethical dilemmas, and personal reactions to their work. Through this reflective dialogue, I will offer feedback, guidance, and mentorship. This helps counsellors gain deeper insights into their practice and refine their therapeutic skills.

Where appropriate, I also incorporate my training as a Creative counsellor within counselling supervision sessions. Providing creative supervision injects a dynamic and innovative dimension into the traditional supervisory process. This approach encourages counsellors to explore their therapeutic work through various creative mediums, such as art, storytelling and role-play. It can be particularly beneficial in helping counsellors navigate complex or challenging cases, as it enables them to view issues from different angles and access unique solutions. By embracing creativity in supervision, counsellors can not only refine their clinical skills but also find renewed inspiration and passion in their work.

Supervision sessions are charged at £50 per 1.5 hours monthly. This can be broken down into two 45 minute supervision sessions per month if required. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
