Supervision details
Ensuring safety and encouraging growth with an egalitarian approach.
I know how important it is to work with a supervisor who compliments your style of working whilst guiding and encouraging growth in your practice. I am very driven when it comes to supporting supervisees with their practice and ensuring that they feel enthusiastic about the work they are doing.
As a supervisor, I offer an integrative approach to support both qualified and trainee counsellors in their professional development. My supervision is grounded in Person-Centred Therapy, fostering a collaborative and non-judgmental environment where empathy, unconditional positive regard, and self-reflection are key. I aim to provide a safe space where supervisees can explore their practice openly, gain deeper self-awareness, and enhance their clinical skills.
In addition to the person-centred foundation, I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities to enrich the supervision process:
- Jungian Therapy offers insights into the unconscious, helping supervisees explore the deeper layers of their clients’ issues and their own responses. This allows for a richer understanding of both the therapeutic relationship and the personal dynamics at play.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) provides a structured approach for identifying and addressing undesirable thought patterns, both in client work and in the therapist’s own thinking. It encourages practical interventions and problem-solving strategies.
- Transactional Analysis (TA) is invaluable for understanding relational dynamics within the therapeutic space. By examining communication patterns and relational roles, supervisees can gain insights into their interactions with clients, enhancing their ability to navigate complex relationships.
- Creative and Art Therapy is a powerful tool for exploring emotions and experiences non-verbally. In supervision, it can aid in reflecting on challenging cases or exploring personal reactions through creative expression.
- Solution-Focused Therapy helps supervisees stay grounded in their goals, both for themselves and for their clients. It encourages focusing on strengths and resources, promoting growth and positive change.
My supervision approach is dynamic and adaptive, providing the necessary support and insight to develop your professional identity, sharpen your therapeutic skills, and maintain ethical and effective practice.
Supervision sessions are charged at £60.00 per 1.5 hours monthly, this is usually broken down into two 45-minute supervision sessions per month (as per BACP requirements). All required reports for trainee counsellors are provided at no additional cost.
