Supervision details
I feel that a good supervisory relationship is characterised by a wide scope of curiosity that is not just about the client but also about the therapist.
The work, if done right, is naturally discombobulating and will impact on us as practitioners in many ways. I offer a reflective, supportive and informative space for us to collaborate to explore the professional and ethical complexities of your client work and your thoughts and feelings about it, without any shame or judgement.
My position on supervision starts with the belief that the supervisee already has within them the answer. However, none of us can continuously mentalise without some kind of scaffold - especially not when we are so up close to the work. I feel my role as supervisor is to be that scaffold, to help illuminate any blind spots and jump-start any stalled mentalising. If you find yourself feeling stuck with a particular client, I can help you re-find the direction.
I'm a Level 7 practitioner and have been working in private practice with clients six years. I'm an integrated therapist by training and am comfortable working with different modalities including CBT, humanistic, existentialist, and psychodynamic. All my work is underpinned by the core values of the person-centred approach and in my own practice I lean heavily towards the psychodynamic modality.
I offer clinical supervision for therapists at all levels of experience and also for supervisors.
My fees for qualified therapists are £75 for 90 mins.
For trainee therapists, it's £45 for 60 mins or £60 for 90 mins.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
