Supervision details

We are currently using video conferencing (via Zoom, Skype, or VSee) to protect you, & to keep everyone safer during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We provide clinical supervision for Counsellors and Therapists at all stages and levels of their professional journey, as well as for Clinical Supervisors (supervision of supervision), and use a number of supervision models and modalities to suit the particular needs, requirements, and demands of each individual and their chosen modalities, philosophical and/or theoretical leanings, and working environment(s).

We are passionate about helping therapists to develop their knowledge and skills in CBT, counselling, and integrative or pluralistic psychotherapy, as well as helping them to process and manage any issues arising from their client work, placements, academic work, degree or diploma portfolios, and also their own supervisory practice.

Within clinical supervision, we take care to adhere to such core processes as the supervisory relationship, promulgating ethical practices, and managing the administrative aspects of supervision. We also ensure that supervisees are aware of their responsibility to adhere to relevant supervision ratios, and to work ethically within their private practices, workplace/employment settings, volunteer positions, or placement organisations.

For students in particular, we can provide constructive feedback on audio/video recordings, in accordance with the requirements of such measures as the CTS-R and other relevant competence framework criteria. We can also help review case studies and other portfolio requirements, write interim and final supervision reports, and monitor clinical work and ethical practices.

Our primary focus is to ensure that all supervisees are supported to provide high quality, ethical, and informed services, and we focus on principal functions of supervision, such as:

  • Personal and professional development - to promote your personal growth, both as individuals and within your relevant therapy or supervisory roles, enabling your reflection on self-awareness, and also on your responses and reactions within the counselling and psychotherapy, or supervisory process, in order to develop your knowledge, skills, congruent attitudes and qualities, and to delineate your learning needs.
  • Support, validation and gentle challenge, as you work to benefit your clients or supervisees, to provide space for you to discuss any areas of difficulty and also successes within your work, and to enable you to reflect on your current practice.
  • Accountability - to help you to maintain an ethical counselling, psychotherapy, or supervision practice, to help you to monitor your practice, to help you maintain standards of service, to help you to ensure quality and, where appropriate, to help you to work towards course completion (if in training), and accreditation by your chosen membership or regulatory bodies, where required.
