About Me as a Supervisor
I provide clinical supervision for trainee counsellors, qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and Low Intensity CBT Practitioners, both face to face in Cornwall and online across the UK.
Whether you're just starting your placement, newly qualified or have many years of experience behind you, supervision should be more than a requirement. It should be a space where you can think clearly, feel supported and continue developing confidence in your work.
Many supervisees come to supervision carrying more than just client work. Alongside clinical questions, they may be managing self-doubt, imposter syndrome, ethical dilemmas, difficult endings, risk concerns or the emotional impact of sitting with trauma, loss and distress week after week.
For trainee counsellors, supervision can provide a safe space to ask questions, make sense of theory, explore challenges on placement and build confidence in your developing identity as a practitioner.
For newly qualified therapists, supervision often includes navigating the transition into private practice, building confidence, developing specialisms, attracting clients, setting fees and establishing a sustainable career.
For experienced practitioners, supervision can offer a reflective and collaborative space to explore complex work, maintain professional standards, deepen clinical thinking and continue growing as a therapist.
Alongside my work as a Clinical Supervisor, I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and EMDR Accredited Practitioner with experience across private practice, education, addiction recovery, trauma work, employee assistance programmes and charitable organisations. This breadth of experience allows me to support supervisees working with a wide range of client presentations and professional challenges.
My supervision style is warm, collaborative and grounded. I aim to create a space where you can speak openly about both your successes and your struggles without fear of judgement. Together we can explore clinical work, ethical issues, theory, self-awareness and the impact the work may be having on you personally.
I work from the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision while adapting our conversations to your individual needs, experience level and professional goals. My aim is not simply to help you meet professional requirements, but to support you in becoming the therapist you want to be.
If you're looking for supervision that balances support, challenge, reflection and practical guidance, I'd be happy to arrange an initial conversation to see whether we're a good fit.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
