Supervision details

Welcome, are you looking to change your supervisor, to challenge your professional practice in a different direction or to reignite your spark?

I have been running my own private practice for several years part time whilst also working with those affected by life-limiting illnesses and bereavement at our local hospice. The variety that these 2 environment provide helps me to fuel my passion.

Originally Person-Centred, I have gradually developed the "tools" that I use with clients to enhance my work. However, the quality of the therapeutic relationship with clients and supervisees remains the bedrock of my practice.

I am the sort of supervisor who is able to support you both in your client work, and personally. I have always had a passion for encouraging excellent professional practice and promoting personal growth and development, and I am passionate about doing this within supervision.

I will explore with you what you need to gain from supervision, so that we can work together to enhance your practice. I recognise that we are not professionals in a vacuum, and that what is going on in our personal lives has a significant impact on how we respond to our clients. With that in mind, I am happy to support you with personal issues that are impacting your work. Together we would create a space where you can explore yourself, your individual professional style alongside sharing the joys and challenges of client work.

Whilst using a reflective approach to supervision sessions, I will encourage your attunement to your own internal supervisor to help you to reflect most effectively.

Please be aware, that as I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework, I would expect supervisees to also be a member of a professional body and to work within their ethical framework of good practice.

I would love the opportunity to chat with you about whether we would be a good fit together.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

DBS check info

In England and Wales, the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, formerly known as CRB) carry out criminal records checks for individuals working with vulnerable groups, such as children. To find out more, visit gov.uk , or contact this professional directly

Unfortunately, my room is on the first floor and sadly there is no life access. If this prevents you from considering face-to-face therapy with myself, I am very happy to offer telephone sessions.
