Supervision details
My approach to therapy and supervision is integrative. I combine cognitive behaviour therapy with psychodynamic principles, all resting on a person centred base. I can also supervise work with neurological client groups. I recently wrote a book about my approach to therapy called "Cognitive Psychodynamics as an Integrative Framework in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy", published by Palgrave in 2019, which you can find on Amazon. I am currently further evaluating and researching this approach as part of my Associate Professor role at the University of the West of England.
British Psychological Society
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
