Supervision details

During my 12 years as an integrative counsellor, and 5 years in to running my own private practice, I decided to embark on my next step as a Clinical Supervisor. I have extensive experience of working with adults and young people working face to face, online and via telephone.

Core conditions are important to me and as a supervisor I hold a warm, genuine and respectful space for supervisees to feel heard and supported at all times.  I understand the value in building a rapport that channels trust and integrity and that the relationship will always be the key component of our work.

Supervision is a place for exploration, curiosity, growth and challenge and I endeavour to create a setting where all of this can happen; a place where supervisees feel safe to bring all aspects of client work and explore the challenges and dilemmas that can be part of that.  Equally I encourage an openness to acknowledge uncertainty, show vulnerability and celebrate success - and to support supervisees to explore professional boundaries and prioritise self-care.

Whether you are a counsellor in training, newly qualified or hold a wealth of experience, my approach will always be one of nurture and responsiveness; one that meets you just where you are.

I am available Tuesday to Friday.  I will always try to be as flexible as possible as to session times.  I offer face to face and online or telephone sessions.  The session fee for qualified counsellors is £50 for 1 hour or £70 for 1.5 hours.  For student counsellors a reduced rate applies.   (For face to face sessions an additional £10 per 1 hour/£15 per 1.5 hours applies towards room hire cover).

Face to face sessions take place at Heswall Hills Counselling Centre, Heswall.

I offer a free introductory call to discuss how we might work together and any particular supervision needs.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
