Supervision details

I have been practicing as a supervisor for 6 years. I am passionate when it comes to client work and I am equally as passionate and devoted with regards to supervision practice. Supervision is an opportunity whereby the supervisee, client and supervisor embark on a journey together. The client is in the driver’s seat, the supervisee in the passenger seat and the supervisor in the back seat. My role as the supervisor is to observe the journey, to explore what you notice about the journey and the impact this may have on you, to highlight what I have noticed and explore your interventions. I will share my knowledge and experience with you and provide you with support, guidance and instruction, as well as encourage the development of your internal supervisor. Supervision underpins Counselling practice as a whole and is a crucial component to supporting and developing both trainees, newly qualified and experienced therapists. It is considered best practice for qualified therapist to undertake a minimum of 1.5 hours of supervision per month. However, it is recommended that the amount of supervision received should be based on the individual therapist needs and their caseload.  I provide individual and group supervision and I use the Seven Eyed Process Model to inform my practice.  I have been practicing for over 10 years and during this time I have had many supervisors. I have experienced high quality supervision and poor quality supervision. Therefore, I recognise that it is essential to choose a supervisor that you feel you can connect with, be open and honest with, someone that can appropriately challenge you and is able to provide you with excellent support. If you would like to grow and develop further in a safe, confidential, supportive and fun environment, or if you would like to receive guidance, direction and advice, I consider it a privilege to be a supervisor and I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.  FEE: Qualified Counsellor 60 Minute £65 Qualified Counsellor 90 Minute £90 Trainee Counsellor 60 Minute £50 Trainee Counsellor 90 Minute £75

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
