Supervision details

If you are looking for a supportive  supervisor. I would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your supervision needs or to arrange an initial meeting.

I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision and a Certificate in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Supervision. These qualifications equip me with the skills to provide effective supervision to psychotherapists and counsellors at various stages of their careers. Whether you are an early career psychotherapist, still in training, or running your private practice, I am here to support you.

Who I Support

Private Practitioners: Running a private practice can be rewarding but also challenging. I offer guidance on maintaining professional boundaries, managing client relationships, and ensuring ethical practice. Additionally, I can provide support on the business side of running a practice, helping you navigate issues such as marketing, client acquisition, and  balancing case loads.

Early Career Psychotherapists: Starting out in this field can be daunting. I offer a safe space for you to discuss your cases, reflect on your practice, and gain confidence in your therapeutic skills. My aim is to help you develop a strong foundation for a successful career in psychotherapy and counselling.

Trainees: If you are still in training, supervision is a crucial part of your development. I provide structured supervision to help you integrate theory with practice, understand the dynamics of the therapeutic relationship, and build your clinical skills.

My Approach

My supervision style is warm, approachable, and collaborative. I believe in creating a supportive environment where you feel comfortable discussing your challenges and successes. Together, we will explore your cases, reflect on your experiences, and identify areas for growth. I aim to help you develop your unique therapeutic voice while adhering to best practices in the field.

Reflective Practice: Supervision is a space for reflection. We will explore your feelings and reactions to your clients, helping you understand how these influence your therapeutic work. This reflective practice is essential for personal and professional growth.

Ethical and Professional Guidance: Maintaining ethical standards is paramount in psychotherapy. I provide guidance on ethical dilemmas and professional conduct, ensuring you practice safely and effectively.

Practical Support: Beyond clinical issues, I offer practical support on the logistics of running a practice. From setting up your business to managing your workload, I am here to help you navigate the practicalities of being a therapist.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
