Supervision details

Choosing a supervisor is an important decision. Good supervision provides a space where you can bring your client work openly, explore uncertainty, reflect on your practice and continue developing as a therapist.

I believe supervision is a collaborative relationship. It is not about having all the answers or telling you what to do. The best supervision helps us ask better questions, develop deeper understanding and strengthen confidence in our own therapeutic judgement.

I aim to create a space where you can bring the reality of therapeutic work: the sessions that leave you wondering, the clients you feel stuck with, the moments where you feel uncertain, the ethical dilemmas you are navigating and the work that touches something within you. Supervision is not about getting everything right; it is about having a place to think, reflect and grow.

I hold a Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision and offer integrative supervision, informed by my experience as a therapist, supervisor and practitioner working with individuals and couples.

My professional experience includes several years with Cruse Bereavement Support, where I supported people through grief and later supervised and supported other volunteers. I have also worked as a counsellor at Woking College, supporting young adults through emotional, personal and developmental challenges.

Alongside my private practice, I work with a wide range of presentations including OCD, anxiety, trauma, grief, loss and relationship difficulties. My specialist training includes EMDR Europe Accredited Training and extensive training in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

My supervision approach is rooted in curiosity, reflection and compassion, while also offering appropriate challenge when this supports growth. I believe our responses to clients can provide valuable information. Exploring our thoughts, feelings and reactions within supervision can deepen our understanding of the therapeutic relationship and support more thoughtful, ethical and effective practice.

My integrative approach draws from person-centred, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural and systemic perspectives. I am particularly interested in the relationship between therapist and client, formulation, patterns that emerge within the work and how our own experiences and responses can inform our understanding.

Whether you are a trainee therapist, newly qualified or an experienced practitioner, my aim is to offer a supervisory relationship where you feel supported, encouraged and able to continue developing your confidence and professional identity.

I offer supervision in person in Weybridge, online or by telephone.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
