Supervision details
Welcome to my page, I am Gary a fully qualified supervisor and I currently have opportunities to provide supervision for an additional two supervisees.
In 2021 I completed an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision, a level 6 qualification. I have over 10 years counselling experience and I currently work with an online mental health EAP called Spill as well as a successful Private Practice.
I truly believe that we are in this helping profession because we have an innate desire to help those struggling right now and with our natural empathy will, can, and do help many with whatever difficulty they are going through.
Having undergone the same training and continued development as many of you, my hopes for myposition as supervisor is to always encourage the natural abilities you have within you, that you have already shown to your tutors (qualifying therapists) and clients (qualified therapists).
I truly believe that a supervisor's main role is to help, nurture, guide, encourage their supervisee, I would hope that I never feel 'above' any other therapist, no matter how many years experience I gain.
I would like to think of myself just as being a separate or alternative ear and voice that can offer additional views, understandings and help for both you and your client/patient.
I don't profess that I will always have more knowledge than you, I don't agree that a supervisor should be someone who is seen as being 'superior' to any other therapist.
I am merely a therapist who has been in the role for sometime and wishes to provide access to how I view situations and hopefully help others that are also in the helping profession.
