Supervision details
The Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision, focuses on the seven areas of your client work: The Client, The Supervisee's Interventions, The Supervisee's Process, The Supervisor-Supervisee Relationship, The Supervisor's Process and The Wider Context of the work environment, including organisational factors, cultural influences and other systems that may be impacting the work.
I also use the Proctor Model of Supervision, that states there are restorative, normative and formative aspects to Supervision work and that these are fulfilled through specific targetable Supervision activities.
I see my main job as your Supervisor, as being a support. Someone who will restore your ability to show up for your clients, feeling better equipped, better informed and able to address dilemmas in your work, how ever they arise, able to gently address emotional blocks in you that mean you are finding particular clients difficult.
I love working as a Supervisor and I see it as a real privilege to be able to support the next generation of Counsellors and Supervisors, as I offer Supervision of Supervisors too.
I have lived experience of living as a minority in a variety of ways and I really feel that this informs my Supervision practice and deepens what I can offer you, so you too can incorporate that knowledge into your own.
I work solely online, so I am able to work with anyone, anywhere and am happy to do so. I have excellent Supervision monthly myself as the BACP expects.
My main experience (16 years) has been in Primary Care and as a Counselling Advisor in a Health Board Staff Psychological Wellbeing Service in the NHS. Prior to that I was working in Youth Services with people 14-25 years old. I have also worked in a service that worked entirely with survivors of childhood sexual abuse. I have also worked with an addiction service, with addicts themselves and affected family members. I have a wide breadth of experience and was initially trained in Existential Psychotherapy, with Person-Centred Therapy as my second model. Throughout my career, I have done training in Trauma, Mindfulness, Anxiety and Depression/Suicidality and Risk Assessment. I am a trained specialist in Neurodiversity and worked for Problem Shared, with University Students, but mostly Neurodivergent Individuals, who in the most part had only recently been diagnosed.
I very much hope you will reach out to book a session with me. I charge £40 per hour, so £60 for an hour and half session. Any reports or help with Accreditation, I see as part of the work, so I make no extra charge for those activities.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
