Supervisor Profile  Jon Rowe MBACP (Accred.)

Welcome  I’m Jon Rowe, founder of Relational Psychotherapy. I am an experienced, trauma-informed psychotherapist (EMDR, CBT, hypnotherapy, bereavement work) rooted in the person-centred tradition, offering relational and reflective supervision for counsellors and therapists.

My approach is warm, collaborative and grounded in the belief that supervision is a supportive relational space not simply oversight. Using the Seven-Eyed Model, we explore your internal process, the client dynamics, the therapeutic relationship, and the wider professional context including ethics, boundaries, CPD and practice development.

In our work together we will:

reflect on your client work and relational patterns
deepen awareness of your internal responses and presence
support your professional growth, confidence and self-care
integrate theory with lived experience and trauma-informed practice
As someone who has built a thriving private practice, I also offer guidance for those wanting to develop their clinical identity and grow their independent work.

I have three supervision spaces available from January 2026. If you’re seeking a relational, grounded and growth-oriented supervisory partnership, I’d love to hear from you.

About me and my supervision practice

Supervision has been one of the most formative and nourishing aspects of my professional life. I feel deeply grateful to have received rich, multi-dimensional supervision across many therapeutic models, and this has profoundly shaped how I now work as a supervisor. I see supervision not as oversight, but as a living, relational space where growth, curiosity and depth can flourish.

My supervisory style is collaborative. I don’t sit in the role of the “expert” telling you what to do with your caseload. Instead, I work alongside you on an equal footing, trusting your capacity and supporting you to deepen your own clinical authority. We think together, reflect together, and make sense of the work together.

I bring a decade’s worth of experience working across EAP services, local emergency services, and over four and a half years within a bereavement service, alongside running a successful private practice. My supervision embraces a three-pronged approach: your client work, your internal and somatic experience as a therapist, and the wider context of your professional life  including your business, dreams, and aspirations.

At the core of my work sits the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision, held within a trauma-informed, integrative framework. I also draw flexibly from a range of supervisory models and therapeutic traditions, tailoring our work to you as an individual. I often describe my approach as having a “drone-out” perspective holding in view you, your clients, and your wider system so nothing important gets missed.

My intention is to offer a safe, reflective, gently challenging space where you feel supported to grow, develop confidence, and flourish both personally and professionally.

I have three supervision spaces available from May 2026. If you’re seeking a relational, grounded and growth-oriented supervisory partnership, I’d love to hear from you.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
