Supervision details

I offer supportive and collaborative supervision to Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Trainees. My aim is to assist you in your development and help you to attend to the therapeutic needs of your clients. I am an Accredited member of BACP and consider my approach to be Person Centred- Integrative and like to work creatively where appropriate. Supervision is an invaluable opportunity to examine your response to your work as a Counsellor/ Psychotherapist. As a supervisor I aim to provide a safe space whereby you as a practitioner can explore anything and everything that happens in a session or in a response to a session.  I believe that supervision should facilitate reflection and insight into exploring client work. It should promote a safe, learning space- based upon an effective working alliance underpinned by a supportive relationship. I offer a user- led supervision service and will therefore work with you in a way that respects your supervision needs.  I will seek to discover your supervision requirements, how you would like to use the space, whether you would like to work creatively in supervision, how you would like to present your clients, what your preferred approach is, how you would like to receive feedback from me and more. I am respectful of different approaches and enjoy a collaborative partnership in the supervisory relationship.  I hold a BPS Approved Certificate in Clinical Supervision.

My focus is to help you in:-

*Feeling supported in your clinical work

*Learning new techniques to use with clients

*Improving skills and effectiveness with clients

* Confidence building and developing your therapeutic approach,

*Sharing and resolving concerns you have with your work in a safe, confidential and non- judgemental environment.

*Feeling 'stuck' - enabling you to move forwards in your client work.

*Professional development.

*Ensuring the safeguarding of clients, including ethical decision making.

*Supporting your accreditation or membership to professional bodies.

Please email for further information and we can arrange an initial telephone call to discuss further.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
