Supervision details

I am a fully qualified Clinical Counselling Supervisor. I offer supervision consultation to qualified counsellors. We can meet in-person or online.

My core therapeutic model is the Five Relational Model (Clarkson). This provides a framework for integration of different modalities (including Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Transpersonal, CBT, creative therapies) using five facets of therapeutic relationship in relational counselling and supervision.

I offer a collaborative, supportive and reflective supervisory space to ensure that supervision is dynamic, challenging, supportive and motivating, both for yourself, your clients and your counselling practice. I help therapists develop their professional voice as a practitioner and define a rationale to help develop that voice which carries through into their counselling work. I comply with BACP supervision standards and as a registered BACP Senior Accredited practitioner I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework. My own work is supported in supervision and I hold full Professional Liability Insurance.

What are Counselling Supervision fees?

The fee for counselling supervision is £90 per 60-minute session, £120 per 90-minute session. Please contact me for further details and to discuss your supervision requirements.

Do you give counselling supervision online?

Yes, I offer counselling in-person and online using video conferencing (Zoom/WhatsApp/Facetime). Please contact me to talk about how you may like us to work together.

Accreditation

I have experience supporting Supervisees through the Accreditation process, with successful outcomes. As a Senior Accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, I work to current BACP Accreditation guidelines and assessment criteria. Please contact me to discuss how we may work together in this way.

Trainee Counsellors

If you are a counselling student seeking personal therapy, I have extensive experience supporting students during their counselling training. In addition to my supervision work with experienced counsellors and psychotherapists, I have supervised and developed the practice of counsellors as they enter private practice.

I provide a safe, trusting and wholly empathic space in which to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences both past and present. Working through transferences as they arise within our therapeutic relationship will help you become more aware of the impact of past experiences and relationships on your life today. Being able to explore this openly, honestly, with curiosity and genuineness and without judgement is a fundamental relational aspect of the way I work.

As training material may arise within or alongside your own therapeutic experience, I am mindful of maintaining a safe and boundaried space. Therefore, I work with minimal numbers of counselling students from within each cohort across a range of training institutions. This helps me to support your counselling process impartially and without undue outside influence from others who you may be training alongside.

Concessions are available for trainee counsellors. The fee is £70 per 50-minute session, this is fixed for the duration of your training which protects you from any interim fee increases until you have completed your training and are qualified.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
